At Dubry Counseling Group, our clinicians are licensed professionals who bring both clinical expertise and genuine human experience to their work. We are not a large anonymous practice. We are a focused, intentional team that takes the time to understand who you are and what you need. Every clinician on our team is committed to providing culturally competent, evidence-informed care in a space where you feel safe to do real work.
Meet Our Team
Our team brings a range of lived experiences to this work. Our founder James Dubry is a Licensed Professional Counselor who previously served as a police officer, an experience that informs his deep understanding of high-stress careers, trauma, and the barriers that often prevent people from seeking help. This background is one of the reasons our practice has a particular commitment to serving first responders, veterans, and professionals navigating high-pressure environments, alongside our broader community of clients.
We believe the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of effective treatment. Every clinician at Dubry Counseling Group is committed to showing up consistently, professionally, and with genuine care for your progress. We welcome clients from all backgrounds, identities, and walks of life.
James Dubry, LPC, NCC, CTP, MA
Specialization: Anxiety, Depression, LGBTQ+, Life Adjustment, First-Responders
James Dubry is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Dubry Counseling Group. He holds a Master of Arts in Counseling and brings a broad clinical focus to his work, supporting individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, PTSD, life transitions, LGBTQ concerns, and the unique challenges faced by young adults and emerging professionals.
James takes an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from a range of evidence-based methods to meet each client where they are. He believes that effective therapy begins with a genuine relationship built on trust, honesty, and respect, and that every person has the capacity for meaningful growth when given the right support.
Before entering the counseling field, James served as a police officer, SWAT operator, and investigator. That experience, combined with a close personal connection to military service through his Husband, a combat veteran, and family, gives him a firsthand understanding of the psychological weight carried by those who serve in high-stress roles. He has a particular commitment to working with first responders, veterans, and military families, though he welcomes clients from all backgrounds and walks of life.
Dubry Counseling Group was founded on the belief that quality mental health care should be accessible, compassionate, and grounded in genuine human connection. A free 15 minute consultation is available to new clients.

Max Adelman, LGPC, MA
Specialization: Anxiety, Depression, Developmental Disorders, Adjustment Disorders

He believes that self-acceptance is the foundation of meaningful change, and that every person has the capacity to grow in the right supportive environment.
